Pick Up & Delivery Schedule Spring Break Week - University Printing Services
University Printing Services pick-up and delivery schedule during Spring Break Week will be once daily, Monday through Friday, between 1pm and 4pm, including Main Campus and 25 & 35 Main St. The twice daily schedule for the Main Campus will resume on Mon., March 23. California Pre-Doctoral Applications Available
Upper division undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply for $3,000 in funding from the California Pre-Doctoral Program. This Program is designed to support the doctoral aspirations of California State University students who have experienced economic or educational disadvantages.
Online applications are available for the 2009/2010 California Pre-Doctoral Program. The deadline to submit your application is Mon., March 16, 2009 at 4pm. Please submit your original application plus three copies to the School of Graduate, International & Interdisciplinary Studies located in the Student Services Center 440.

Research and Sponsored Programs Grant Writing Cafe - Date Change
Good news - Research and Sponsored Programs’ first Grant Writing Cafe of the spring semester will be held Friday, March, 27 (originally scheduled March 13) from 1:30pm - 3:30pm in the Student Services Center, Room 306 (note new location). Laura King will be presenting the good news about federal research funding and how our campus can prepare to apply for and receive it. There will also be follow-up discussion of our recent Grant Writing USA Workshop. Join Laura, Diane Johnson, and Jeannie Schademan, Proposal Development Specialists, for a discussion of these funding topics and an introduction to our newest funding data base from the Foundation Center. Come any time and stay as long as you wish.

2009-2010 Rawlins Nominations due to College Deans March 13
Nomination packets for the Lt. Robert M. Rawlins Award have been distributed to college and department offices. The nomination forms are also available at the Web site.
These are among our most prestigious scholarships. Faculty are encouraged to nominate students who demonstrate academic excellence, well-defined goals and evidence of involvement in extracurricular and community activities. Students who are selected to receive these awards must be enrolled full-time during fall and spring semesters in the 2009/2010 academic year.
March 13 is the deadline for faculty to submit nominations to the dean of the college of the student’s major.

SAAC Collecting Old Cell Phones
The CSU, Chico Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is looking for your old, unwanted cell phone. SAAC is collecting cell phones to donate to Cell Phones for Soldiers, an organization that turns old cell phones into prepaid calling cards for U.S. Troops stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan and other parts of the world. If you have an old cell phone that you aren’t using any longer (working or not working), please drop it off in the collection box located in front of Acker 135. So far, Cell Phones for Soldiers has raised over $2 million dollars in donations and distributed more than 500,000 prepaid calling cards to soldiers overseas.

Forebay Aquatic Center Open
Saturday, March 14, 2009 will kick off the season opener of the Associated Students Forebay Aquatic Center. Our Spring hours are Thursday-Sunday from 10am-5pm. Take advantage of the beautiful weather. Come rent a kayak, take a sailing course or just enjoy the sunshine. Our full schedule is posted online.

Evening for Two Opportunity Drawing Results
Staff Council thanks everyone who purchased tickets or donated prizes for our recent Evening for Two fundraiser. Over $1,400 in proceeds will assist in funding programs benefiting our staff. Don't Miss GradFest Today at the AS Bookstore
Know anyone who is graduating? The Associated Students Bookstore is hosting their annual GradFest today from 10am to 5pm. Join us for a day of special discounts and information regarding graduation. Representatives from the Evaluations Office will be present to answer questions on graduation status. Graduates and friends of graduates should take advantage of 20% off all alumni clothing and gifts while gathering information about commencement ceremonies, the Alumni Association and graduation photos.

CSUEU - Summer 4/10's meeting next Wednesday
Please mark your calendar, and join CSUEU and representatives from Human Resources in a discussion on the Summer 4/10 Schedule on Wed., March 18 in Kendall Hall 207/209. We will hold the meeting from 12pm to 2pm to allow input from as many staff as possible. Refreshments will be provided.
This meeting provides us all an important opportunity to share our thoughts with the administration regarding this proposed schedule change. CSUEU believes that we have the opportunity to guide the administration on this important change.

CSU, Chico Employees in Need of Donated Leave Credits
The following employees are in need of donated leave credits:

• DENISE GAVELLO (Staff, Accounting Operations) Employee is using Family Care catastrophic leave: only vacation credits may be donated.
• JANE MAURER, (Staff, Student Records and Registration)
• ELENA PATTON (Staff, Facilities Management and Services)
• MARY SOUZA (Staff, Athletics)
Any CSU, Chico employee who accrues sick leave or vacation leave credits may donate leave credits to other eligible employees on the CSU, Chico campus, regardless of bargaining unit affiliation. Associated Student employees and CSU, Chico University Research Foundation employees are not eligible to donate leave credits to CSU, Chico employees.
If you wish to donate leave credits, you will need to sign the catastrophic leave donation list - which is maintained at the Payroll/Benefits Customer Service Counter (Kendall 222).
BECAUSE YOUR SIGNATURE IS REQUIRED, YOUR DONATIONS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED OVER THE PHONE OR VIA E-MAIL.
Per Catastrophic Leave Program guidelines, only the Disability Programs Office or a union representative may solicit for Catastrophic Leave donations; solicitation by any other party is prohibited.
