Investment in Concrete Program Reaches $1 Million
California State University, Chico’s Concrete Industry Management Program (CIM) has reached the $1 million mark in private support just three years after coming into existence.
CSU, Chico’s CIM program is one of five in the country and offers students a BS in concrete industry management from the College of Engineering, Computer Science and Construction Management (ECC).
The CIM Chico Patrons Executive Board reported the $1 million financial milestone to campus officials late last month.

Climate Change Book Club Tomorrow - Final Week
The Northern California Natural History Museum, in anticipation of Elizabeth Kolbert’s talk at CSU, Chico, has been co-hosting a discussion series about Ms. Kolbert’s book “Field Notes on a Catastrophe: Man Nature and Climate Change” on Wednesdays at Barnes and Noble from 7pm - 8pm. The Book Club meets one final time this Wednesday; come discuss Ms. Kolbert’s lecture last week, and learn about renewable energy from one of our own.

Preventing Violence in the Workplace, April 2
Do you know how to recognize and even prevent violence in the workplace? This workshop will discuss what workplace violence is, common myths, and recognizing behaviors of concern. Options for responding to and reporting warning signs, and the importance of early action will also be covered in this important session.
Employees, supervisors, and managers are encouraged to attend. This course is also part of the Supervisory Development Training certificate series. Seating is limited, so please register early.

Did you know academic departments’ registration processes affect student fees and financial aid? This session provides system information and discussion about potential student service-academic “collision” points. This will help departments prevent student enrollment and fee problems and enhances proactive customer service.
This workshop is recommended to Academic department ASC’s, advisors in colleges, academic advising programs, international programs, and other staff involved in student enrollment, fee payment, financial aid, or other advising. Seating is limited, so please register early.
