Purchase Tickets Now for Glorious Sounds of the Season
Glorious Sounds of the Season, CSU, Chico’s annual holiday celebration, takes place Friday, Dec. 12 and Saturday, Dec. 13 at 7:30pm and Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2pm in Harlen Adams Theatre.
This scholarship fundraiser for the Department of Music has become a Chico tradition and has sold out in advance the previous four years.
Presented in a unique kaleidoscopic fashion with ensembles/performers literally everywhere in Harlen Adams Theatre, the holiday-season music is non-stop and has ranged from classical to jazz to rock and roll in recent years. Performers typically include all the performance groups in the Dept. of Music, as well as outstanding faculty instrumentalists and vocalists. One of the many highlights is an audience-participation sing-along of various holiday-season songs.
Tickets have been selling at a much brisker pace this year, especially for the Sunday matinee performance which always seems to sell out first. It is advised people wishing to go to Glorious Sounds purchase tickets well in advance; all tickets are reserved with the best seats sold on a first-come-first-served basis.
Tickets are available at the University Box Office, 898-6333.

Eileen Ivers and Immigrant Soul coming to Laxson Auditorium, Nov. 21
Join Chico Performances as they present Eileen Ivers and Immigrant soul for a night of fast-paced Celtic music on Nov. 21, at 7:30pm.
Anytime a Celtic band includes a “beatbox” and “drum loop,” it’s safe to say their performance will rock. Eileen Ivers, nine-time winner of the All-Irish Fiddling Championship, and her band Immigrant Soul combine Celtic with everything from Latin to blues in an infectious blend of world music. African and Latin percussion combined with fiddle, funky bass, acoustic piano, synthesizers, drums and blues harmonica have earned her a huge international following. The resulting sound has been described as “world fusion, with a Celtic edge.”
